BYLAWS OF MEADOWS CIVIC LEAGUE

Article I: Name, Purpose, and Mission
Name: The organization shall be known as the Meadows Civic League.
Purpose: The purpose of the Meadows Civic League is to:

o Foster a sense of unity and belonging among residents.
o Promote the welfare of all residents within the neighborhood.
o Encourage participation in activities that improve the quality of life in the community.
o Work collaboratively with local businesses, organizations, and government officials to ensure the best interests of residents are served.
o Address issues affecting the neighborhood such as safety, beautification, and development.

3. Mission Statement:
The Meadows Civic League aims to enhance the quality of life in the community by promoting civic engagement, community service, and collaboration among residents.

Article II: Membership
1. Eligibility: Membership is open to all residents, property owners, and business owners around 25 miles from the Meadows neighborhood.
2. Dues: Members are required to pay annual dues of $25 per year. Membership fees are due annually and must be paid by the first meeting of the fiscal year to remain in good standing.
3. Rights: Each member in good standing (dues paid) shall have the right to:
o Vote on matters brought before the Civic League.
o Hold office within the Civic League.
o Participate in all Civic League activities and meetings.

Article III: Meetings
1. General Meetings: Regular membership meetings shall be held monthly on the first Thursday of each month. The schedule of meetings will be decided at the beginning of each fiscal year.
2. Special Meetings: Special meetings may be called by the President or by a majority of the Board of Directors as necessary.
3. Notice of Meetings: Notices for general and special meetings shall be given to all members at least seven days in advance via email or other agreed-upon communication methods.
4. Quorum: A quorum for any general meeting shall consist of 20% of the total membership in good standing.

Article IV: Officers
1. Officers: The officers of the Meadows Civic League shall consist of:
o President
o Vice President
o Partner Development Chair
o Secretary
o Treasurer
2. Election of Officers: Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of members present at the annual meeting and shall serve a term of two years. Officers may be re-elected for consecutive terms.
3. Duties:
o President: The President shall preside over all meetings, represent the Civic League in external affairs, and ensure that the bylaws are followed.
o Vice President: The Vice President shall assist the President and assume the President’s duties in their absence.
o Partner Development Chair: The Partner Development Chair shall establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and government agencies to support Civic League initiatives and activities.
o Secretary: The Secretary shall maintain meeting minutes, records of membership, and handle all correspondence on behalf of the Civic League.
o Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be responsible for the finances of the Civic League, collect dues, pay expenses, and provide financial reports to the membership.

Article V: Board of Directors
1. Composition: The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers and at least two additional members elected by the membership.
2. Duties: The Board shall manage the business and affairs of the Civic League and make decisions on behalf of the membership in between general meetings.
3. Meetings: The Board of Directors shall meet at least once a month to discuss and manage the business of the Civic League.
4. Quorum for Board Meetings: A quorum for any Board meeting shall consist of a majority of the Board members.

Article VI: Committees
1. Standing Committees: The Civic League shall establish standing committees to address specific areas such as:
o Beautification: Oversees neighborhood cleanup, landscaping, and community beautification projects.
o Safety: Works with local authorities to improve neighborhood safety and security.
o Events: Plans and organizes community events and activities.
2. Special Committees: The President may appoint special committees to handle tasks or projects as needed.

Article VII: Amendments
1. Amendments: These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of members present at a general meeting, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given to all members at least two weeks prior to the meeting.

Article VIII: Dissolution
1. Dissolution: Upon dissolution of the Meadows Civic League, any remaining assets shall be distributed to Light Of The World Ministries International.
